A monthly favourites post is LONG overdue but thank you to those who requested them, there’s so much love coming my way, you guys are amazing!

This should probably be something I am to do every month, as it started out, so I’ll definitely make the utmost effort in including this segment once a month. Also, a big shout out to the South African beauty market for stepping up their game and finally jumping on this millenium’s bandwagon, for crying out loud!

Okay so where do we begin, ah, foundation!

LA Girl Pro Coverage HD Foundation

Yes honey, it’s here, thank you Dischem pharmacies (can you believe it) for the new LA Girl Pro Coverage HD Foundation in all shades seen everywhere in the world besides here! If you’re eager to try it out, best you drop everything and head to their counters. I surprisingly found my shade this week and used it in a ‘First Impression’ video on my YouTube channel (here). The formula is a tad bit runnier than the Esteè Lauder Double Wear foundation but covers amazingly well, just as the packaging promises. It’s not as matte as what I thought it would, there’s a little glow to it which is quite nice but setting it with some loose powder really makes a huge difference in the way it looks and feels on the skin. In my books, it’s a R175 worth spending. Purchase here.

MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation

A foundation I never thought I’d be in to0 but found the perfect solution in winning at it! I headed to a MAC counter about a year ago and had one of their artists test a few new foundation formula’s on my skin. I loved most of them besides this one as it seemed a bit too thick and dry for my skin. Keeping in mind, my skin was a lot dehydrated at the time so I grabbed the Face and Body instead. Anyways, long story short, I needed to give him a fair chance so I picked up a tube and got some great advice on using it in conjunction with a skin illuminator. Now, my best foundation looks are a combo of this guy and the MAC Strobe Cream! The combination is heavenly. Full coverage with skin that’ll make you look like a glazed donut! Purchase here.

Urban Decay Quick Fix Hydra-Charged Complexion Priming Spray

The priming spray that may have changed it all for me. If you’re a big fan of coconut, then you’re basically in for a treat. No fingers involved, spray directly onto your face and bask in the ambience! The smell is rich in coconut with the necessary vitamins and priming properties that the skin needs before starting your makeup. Purchase here.

Clinique Moisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate

Clinique’s newest serum, that’s kind of blowing our minds right now, is supercharged with water binding ingredients and incapsulated antioxidants. The hydrating formula gives you the moisture your skin always needs during the cooler seasons. I love the smell, the feel and of course the look, it’s pink! I use this before I hit the gym so I feel cool and hydrated when I’m on the treadmill. Purchase here.

Egyptian Magic

You might just underestimate the look of this product but you guys, this! It’s an all natural healing balm that contains bees wax, olive oil, honey, bee pollen, royal jelly and bee propolis (a mix of beeswax and resin extracts from trees) which bees use to build a beehive. I’ve been using it for just over a month now and it’s incredible. I use it for everything. Dry skin, chapped lips, scars, burns, irritations etc. which in the last month, I’ve actually had! I’m also honestly taken by the amount of celebs who live and swear by this cream. Lauren Conrad, Kate Hudson, Eva Mendez and even RiRi! Don’t believe me, read this. To purchase, visit the 27 Pinkx website here.

Clinique Lash Power Flutter to Full mascara

My new favourite mascara that has a custom volume wand. Twist the barrel and the wand gives you 3 volume options. It’s also super long wearing and lasts all day with no smudging or flaking. Even though I currently have lash extensions, using mascara on my lower lashes is super important because having volume on the top means balancing out the bottom. With lower lashes, a long wearing mascara like this one is essential. Purchase here.

NYX Professional Makeup Ultimate Shadow palette

The eyeshadow palette that has been my go-to this season is the Warm Neutrals palette. 16 shades that go with any natural day look. If you’re looking for a basics palette for everyday versatility, creating looks will be so easy with these shades. The shadows are pigmented and soft with minimal fall-out. Also, it’s compact and square so it looks pretty and fits into any makeup bag, box or on display. Purchase here.

NYX Professional Makeup Waterproof Extreme Colour lipliner

If you’re looking for real colour, these lip liners are the new, new! Super creamy as it glides on and adds the boldest colour to your look that stays on all day! I got my hands on them during last month and I’m excited to try a few more shades because the ones I have right now are so bomb. No lipstick needed.

Clinique Chubby Plump and Shine gloss

I’ve never been much of a gloss person but when I’m off to work or heading out for a walk, a little gloss doesn’t hurt. The new Clinique Chubby’s are so cute. They’re gloss with a fancy twist and I find that they’re so comfortable to wear. No sticky feeling or dry residue after the wind hits it. They come in various shades so they tint your lips adding a touch of girly to any natural look. Purchase here.

Smashbox Liquid Lipsticks

I entered the store for face wipes and left with liquid lipsticks. Isn’t that what we all do? I tried the Smashbox liquid lipsticks a while back and it’s actually been a favourite of mine for a few months now. I’m in dire need of more shades so I’m hoping to hit them up again soon. The shades are incredible and they’re super soft on application, drying into a super comfortable matte lipstick. I’m obsessed with the shades Stepping Out and In Demand. You’re welcome! Purchase them here.

So that’s all for my July monthly favourites, please let me know if you’d like me to continue this segment on the blog. I have a couple of exciting new beauty content coming out soon that I just can’t wait to share with you. Hello, Spring!
